The West Island's
Food Security Network
Why was the Network created?
To improve food security in the West Island;
Support and promote communication and collaboration between the diverse stakeholders of the food system;
Facilitate the implementation of structuring projects on its territory.
Fighting the myth.
The West Island has a reputation of being a wealthy community, one without struggles and vulnerability. This misconception couldn’t be farther from the truth.
This short documentary highlights the voices of West Islanders and their struggles.
Produced by Luca Brown
Directed and edited by Akshay Grover and Max Duguay
Coordinated by the West Island Community Resource Centre
What does the Network do?
We organize annual events for our partners to connect and exchange on their current project and services.

Getting involved
Many organizations need volunteers to provide their services to the community. Donations are also a great way to support these organizations.
See the list of partners to learn more about how to get involved with them and where to donate.
Collective food drive events are also organized every Spring and Fall in collaboration with the YMCA West Island.
